Client Stories
"I love my wife, but this child looks nothing like me. All my friends continually tease me, and say the child belongs to my wifes old boyfriend. I want to believe my wife, but there is this nagging doubt that is now affecting our relationship plus the relationship I have with my son. What can I do?"
An In-Home test is available using just the samples from the Child and a possible Father. Buccal swabs are painless and easily obtained. Our laboratory can determine the shared markers between the Child and possible Father without the Mothers involvement
"I am facing an ugly divorce. I am leaving my husband, and moving in with my boyfriend. I have a six-month old baby girl. Honestly, I do not know if her father is my husband or my boyfriend. Please do not judge me, it just happens. Once we get this divorce proceeding in court, I know my husband and his attorney will request a legal, court ordered DNA paternity test. I cannot wait for those results
.I need to know NOW! That way I can prepare for the next step, whatever that may be. How can you help?"
An In-Home test is available using just the samples from the Mother, Child and a possible Father (the samples could be used from your boyfriend so that you do not have to involve your husband). Our laboratory will determine the shared markers between the Mother, Child and possible Father. The DNA testing result will provide you with an answer before the paternity test is court ordered.
"I was a teenage mother who gave up my daughter for adoption when she was 2 days old. It was the best decision for me at the time, but now I have been contacted by this teenage girl, who states shes my daughter. The records and the timeframe are correct, but this girl does not resemble me in any way. Before I go any further trying to form a relationship, I want to know, is she my daughter?"
A Maternity test can be performed. Our laboratory would request a sample from the possible Mother and a sample from the Child. The laboratory would be determining the shared DNA maternal markers. The Parentage testing result would determine conclusively if she is the biological Mother of the Child.
"My son has a lovely daughter, but my husband and I are questioning if this granddaughter is really my sons child, or some one elses. My son is apprehensive about paternity testing, but I think as grandparents, we deserve to know for sure. How can we know without involving my son?"
In this situation, a Grandparentage test can be performed. Our laboratory would request samples from the Child, paternal Grandmother, and paternal Grandfather (the Mother is optional). The laboratory would determine the possible Fathers DNA markers based on the markers from his birth parents (the Grandmother and Grandfather) then compare those determined DNA markers to the Child in question.
